Futur Cells Project

The energy sector is one of the strategic sectors and one of the priorities at both national and European level. All new proposals aimed at obtaining an intelligent and efficient electricity grid with a lower environmental impact are essential to create an advanced society. In a multi-competitive environment with large companies in the manufacture of electrical switchgear, Inael Electrical System, S.A., innovates and provides technological advances with internationally recognised quality and reliability.

With the Futur-Cells project, Inael Electrical Systems, S.A. is developing three new medium voltage switchgear designed under the following parameters:

-Lower environmental impact with a reduction in the use of SF6 gas.

-Better communication between switchgear, especially with the electricity grid.

-Improvements in functionalities to guarantee their reliability.

-Reduced size.

To achieve these results, the Inael Electrical Systems engineering department has invested more than 18 months of work in research and development in the different stages of any R&D project:

-Component analysis and design.

-Component development, integration and validation.

-Project management and exploitation of results.

Due to the complexity of the proposed development, Inael assigned a team with proven experience and training. In addition to the indispensable collaboration of three national and international reference organisations in the field of electrical engineering. The technological challenge consisted of developing efficient medium voltage SF6 metal enclosed switchgear at a very competitive cost.

The new generation of medium voltage SF6 metal enclosed switchgear from Inael Electrical Systems is the perfect answer to:

Aggressive environmental conditions, such as salty air, air humidity, airborne dust or condensation.

Protection against penetration of foreign bodies.

Compact design for use in electrical rooms.

They incorporate the SPS BY INAEL system (sealed pressure system), a sealed pressure system in the switching devices that provides:

– Maximum supply safety.

– Safety for specialised personnel.

– Lifetime tightness in accordance with IEC 62271-200 (sealed pressure system).

– Installation, operation, extension, replacement without SF6 gas work.

– Reduced operating and maintenance costs.

Through the Futur-Cells project, Inael Electrical Systems continues with the strategic line in R+D+i established decades ago, and positions itself as one of the leading companies worldwide in the development and manufacture of cells for electrical energy distribution.
