Inael Electrical Systems is leading a national R&D&I project related to energy efficiency and the protection of the electrical distribution network.
The EFESOT project, recently approved by the Ministry of Science and Innovation (MICINN), addresses the development of key equipment to improve the energy efficiency of the electricity distribution network and optimise its protection against atmospheric surges (such as those caused by electrical storms). The new technology will improve the reliability and stability of the grid, thus helping to facilitate the consolidation of concepts such as the Smart Grid or the Electric Vehicle. The project, led by Inael, is partnered by Iberdrola and two world-leading research institutions: the Spanish National Research Council and the Photocatalysis Department of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
As a result of INAEL’s commitment to research and innovation, the MICINN has awarded three other large R&D&I projects.
